Operation O Kae Molao results in 14 illegal Zimbabweans being arrested

Gauteng Police stopped a bakkie with 14 illegal immigrants, mostly women, from Zimbabwe to Gauteng.

The detentions occurred during Operation O Kae Molao in Gauteng.

The illegals claimed that they each paid the R1500 driver to transport them to Johannesburg.

The driver was also arrested for bribery after offering the police a certain amount to get through.

On their way to greener pastures, following the ugly conditions in Zimbabwe!

SAPS called in by ZRP to provide a chopper for the rescue mission.

At least 11 Zimbabweans who attempted to cross the crocodile-infested Limpopo River into South Africa are feared dead after a boat carrying eight of them reportedly capsized, while the other three were swept away in different incidents, on Sunday (last week).

Beitbridge Police District Chief Superintendent Tichaona Nyongo told News24 that only one body had been recovered since.
