AMAOTI, KZN – A 22-year-old man showed unbelievable determination after he allegedly pulled a bullet from his own foot using a pair of scissors following a terrifying midnight shooting.
The young man and his friend were walking to a nearby shop on Tuesday night when they were confronted by a group of unknown suspects.
Sensing danger, they turned and ran for their lives.
That’s when the suspects allegedly opened fire.
One of the bullets struck the 22-year-old in his right foot, while his friend escaped unharmed.
Despite bleeding and in severe pain, the injured man managed to reach his home, where he reportedly removed the bullet head from own foot before seeking help.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) officers responded to the scene shortly after 11pm and recovered the bullet head from the victim’s residence.
The gunmen fled and have not yet been arrested. The motive behind the attack remains unknown.
The victim was later rushed to hospital in a private vehicle for medical treatment as police continue searching for the suspects.
