The Minister for Human Settlements, Mmamoloko Kubayi, will alongside the Deputy Minister Tshwete, the Executive of the City of Johannesburg, launch yet another mega project.

The project is under the One Month, One Building campaign which is aimed at delivering one
development a month to contribute towards reversing the housing backlog in the city of Johannesburg.

The purpose of the launch is to declare the first two phases of the Riverside View Social Housing Project yielding 180 units, complete and ready for occupation by the new beneficiaries.

The Riverside View Social Housing project’s fundamental objective is to empower low-income families and individuals from a variety of backgrounds while also providing adequate and affordable homes.

This project demonstrates the City’s constant dedication to building a
better future for residents, where every individual has access to safe, comfortable, and sustainable housing.

The project was developed by the Johannesburg Social Housing Company, JOSHCO, the City’s agent responsible to deliver social and affordable rental accommodation to residents of the city earning between R3500 – R22 000.

JOSHCO believes in creating homely, energy-efficient homes that promote a healthy and environmentally conscious lifestyle.

Riverside development is located in Region A on the banks of Diepsloot and Steyn City and will upon total completion yield 1108 units including 160 bachelor units, 72 one-bedroom units, and 876 two-bedroom units with a kitchen, dining area, and bathroom.

The project is aimed at integrating mixed income groups to eliminate the housing backlog within the city of Joburg and to reduce the number of back yard dwellers by providing beautiful, spacious,
secure, and well-maintained places to call home.
