5 boys from Alexandra who traveled with Kabelo Masalesa (11) to Palestine are left truamatised after his death.

Kabelo , a resident of 8th avenue, allegedly drowned in the pool.

Alex boys are in the exchange program sponsored by the Department of Sports, Art and Culture and the Palestinian Embassy.

They were supposed to be landing back to South Africa this coming Friday.

They were accompanied to the trip by Alex LFA Secretary general Malvin Khumalo.

“Good day, sad news from Palestine. We have sadly lost a child’s life through an accident that happened in the pool.

“I have not been able to converse with everyone as I was dealing with the crisis from at hand as it was a tense situation.

“I’ve been in contact with the club ( Black Poison) & the family. We are at a point of repatriation and flying the parents to this side as soon as possible,” Khumalo told Alex Reporter.

“For now, we only have a preliminary report and CCTV footage. The embassy is assisting us. Full investigation is underway,” he said.

Khumalo said the other boys in Alex were coping.

“But as normal, they are concerned about their teammates. The boys have asked to play the remaining game in honor of Kabelo.

“May his soul rest in Peace,” Khumalo said.
