Alex man shot in buttocks while girlfriend watched

A thug wearing black clothes and black balaclava entered a woman’s room ,shot her boyfriend before robbing the couple valuable items.

 

A 36- year-old woman was sleeping with her 30-year-old boyfriend when a thug entered their room and pointed them with a firearm.

 

The incident happened on the 10th of March around 02:45 am in extension 9, Alexandra.

 

The tsotsi allegedly said to her boyfriend, ‘I told you that I will get you’ . The boyfriend allegedly replied’, I’m sorry’.

 

According to Alex police spokesperson, Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, the suspect then took a Huawei and a Mobicell cell phones that were placed on TV stand.

 

“The suspect shot the boyfriend on the right buttock before he asked the couple where  the wallet was.

 

“He then took the wallet and a Sony cell phone which was placed next to the wallet and fled the scene. Upon checking on how he gained entry into the room, the victims established that he had broken the burglar gate- lock and the door- lock,” said Mbatha.

 

It is not clear how much was in the wallet, but all the cell phones cost approximately R5400. Mbatha said the boyfriend was taken to Edenvale Hospital for medical treatment.

Five armed thugs robbed a family of their four cellphones.

 

According to Sergent Simphiwe Mbatha, the incident occured in Tsutsumani on Monday around 23 PM.

 

“Five armed men forcefully gained entry by cutting the buglar gate hinges, then opened the steel door which was not locked. Four suspects entered the room while their accomplice  stood outside,Mbatha said.

 

Mbatha said two of them pointed the couple with firearms.

 

“They then proceeded to the Spaza Shop and took cigarettes valued at R 3000.00, airtime of about R4000.00 and R2500.00 cash.

 

“Total value of the robbed items is estimated at R12300.00.

 

The Suspects are unknown and business robbery docket  has been opened for further investigation.
