A convicted offender, Nigel Marais (30) appeared at the Alexandra Magistrates Court earlier yesterday for the murder of a Correctional Officer at the Leeuwkop Correctional facility.
According to Phindi Mjonondwane
NPA Regional Spokesperson, the case emanates from the discovery of Eunice Moloko’s lifeless body on 10 August inside the female toilets at her place of employment.
“Marais was sentenced for a count of murder and another of attempted murder in November 2015 for an incident that happened in KwaZulu-Natal in 2014,” said Mjonondwane.
He is currently serving 18 years imprisonment at the Leeuwkop Correctional facility.
The case was remanded to 26 August for further investigations.
