The self-proclaimed second coming of Jesus Christ has risen – and he’s in Kenya turning water into tea!
The man, Mwalimu Yesu wa Thangole, says he is on a divine mission and the name was anointed to him by God Himself, along with instructions to spread the gospel across the globe.
The Kenyan man claims he is the real man of Nazareth who was crucified and resurrected. Unlike 2000 years ago, however, this Jesus has decided to get married and he has eight children with his wife.
“I am Jesus Christ. Many ask if I am the real Christ, and I affirm to them that I am…Jesus is not for one country, but he is for the whole world,” he declared in a recent interview with Afrimax.
His so-called miracles have drawn a large and devoted following to his church in the town of Bungoma.
He recently blessed a wedding ceremony by apparently turning water into tea, but the revellers might have wished him to repeat his old trick and turn it into wine instead!
Just like Jesus in the Bible, Mwalimu Yesu has 12 disciples, each named after Jesus’s followers.
His disciples adorn robes that cover them from head to toe as they kneel down and worship the self-proclaimed prophet when he reads from the scriptures.
Before his followers can attend mass inside Mwalimu’s beautiful church, they must first enter another building to repent for their sins.
“I fully believe this man is Jesus, he heals and delivers,” claimed one follower.
“Sick people come to this church, and you may think they are so close to death but Jesus always intervenes and they are healed,” added his wife.
This Jesus may abstain from booze, but he is certainly not as celibate as he used to be. He has a wife with whom he has raised eight children.
He has defended his marital status using Revelations 21:9.
The verse reads: “And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, ‘Come here, I will show you the Lamb’s wife’.”
The self-declared Christ claims that it is the “Lamb’s wife” writing in the scriptures that gave him permission to marry and procreate.
This is not the first time a Kenyan has come with claims of being Jesus Christ. In July 2019, a Kenyan pastor in the small Kenyan town of Kitengela claimed he found Jesus and presented the man to his congregation as the son of God.
In South Africa, Moses Hlongwane from KZN claims to be Jesus Christ sent by God to serve and save the world in 2013.
