Mnisi (29) had no other option, but to hand himself to cops after allegedly murdering security guard when he robbed cash van

Zola Martin Mnisi (29), was remanded in custody by the Kabokweni Magistrate Court on Monday, 9 October 2023, after he handed himself to the Hawks on allegations of murder and cash in transit robbery cases.

Mnisi made his first appearance at the Kabokweni Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 9 October 2023, for the murder of a Fidelity Security Officer during a cash in transit robbery at Kabokweni.

Captain Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi said the case was postponed to Thursday, 12 October 2023, at the same court.

She said Mnisi is still to appear in court for the White River and Malelane cases, respectively.

Sekgotodi the appearance followed after Mnisi was circulated on media platforms as a wanted suspect by the Hawks.

“During the investigation, it was discovered that Mnisi was also linked to the following cases:
1. Kabokweni murder of Fidelity security guard and cash in transit robbery in April 2023.
2. White River murder of G4S security guard and cash in transit robbery in July 2023.
3. Malelane cash in transit robbery in August 2023.

“Mnisi and his co-accused Mpendulo Absima Hassane (31) were first linked to a cash in transit robbery, which happened on 11 August 2023, in Malelane.

“Hassane is urged to do like wise and hand himself over to the police,” said Sekgotodi.

The Provincial Head of the Hawks Major General Gerber confirmed the commitment of the Hawks in Mpumalanga to fight serious crime and vowing to leave no stone unturned to trace and apprehend suspects.

“He appeals to anyone with information on the whereabouts of Hassane to contact the Investigating officer, Warrant Officer De Lange, on 071481 2815. Information received will be dealt with in confidence,” said Sekgotodi.
