Musa Ntsibande (36) appeared before the Johannesburg High Court today for allegedly murdering his wife. However his initial bail was forteited

He will appear in court again on the forth of October 2023.

He allegedly shot Hlengiwe Msimango (30) three times on August 3, 2020 at their home in Birch Acres, Kempton Park, after allegedly mistaking her as an intruder.

Msimango, known as Pearl who left her two kids aged 7 and 4, was raised by Thandi Nkumane when her mother was raped and killed when she was very young.

Pearl was murdered in front of her children in the bedroom.

“He killed her and on top of that, all he sees is nothing wrong with what he did. He left 2 kids without a mother, a 7-year-old and a 4-year-old,” said Nkumane.

Nkumane told Alex Reporter that she raised Pearl and took her to school until she graduated and found a job.

“He ended her life and now he comes to us and claims we didn’t treat her well. Who raised Hlengiwe and her kids, who stays with her kids ? He can’t stay with the kids because he can’t be trusted with the them,” she said.

She said the police found him seated in the lounge and that the gun was on the bed. “He was quite without crying or showing emotions, but his mouth was full of blood. It indicates he was trying to get the bullets out.

“I told him that he would go to prison and that all the people he shot and stabbed will be represented by Hlengiwe’s blood.

“What he did for erecting a tombstone has opened a wound that was about to close. The wound will be healed on the day he receives a sentence.

“It is not acceptable to go to a grave without informing the parents of the deceased. Yes, I might not be a blood relative to her, but I raised her.”

She expressed that the journey was not an easy one. “But God is there. My wish is for him to be given a life sentence for the bullets that entered Hlengiwe’s body.”
