The infamous taxi driver, Kibi Josias Leboho, will appear in the Polokwane High Court on Monday, 20 February 2023.

Leboho will be tried for the murder of his ex-fiancée Tshepo Rakoma.

He was arrested on 06 May 2021, after he sprayed the Capitec Bank Consultant’s car with bullets, killing her instantly in a parking lot of a shopping centre in the Polokwane CBD.

He is known as Polokwane Spiderman.

According to Lentswe Laka Foundation spokesperson,
Malebeko Sadiki, he later climbed on top of a building threatening to commit suicide.

“However, the Police negotiators convinced him otherwise and arrested him,” said Sadiki.

His suicidal attempt resulted onto him being called Polokwane Spiderman.

Leboho faces charges of murder, theft and unlawful possession of a firearm.

“Gender Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) continue to increase in South Africa.

“As a result, Lentswe Laka Foundation calls on the courts to impose hefty sentences for perpetrators of such violence, this to send a message that our country does not tolerate acts of GBVF.

“On Friday, while releasing the quarterly crime statistics, Major General Norman Sekhukhune noted that domestic violence is also a contributing factor to the increase in murder.

“Three hundred and five (305) domestic murders were recorded for the quarter covering 1st October to December 2022.

“The above is an indication that attention should be properly given to GBVF in the country,” Sadiki said.

Sadiki said support should also be given to families of the victims. “We therefore call on Polokwane CBOs and the community to attend the court case in numbers.

“The move will demonstrate our intolerance to the acts of GBVF.

“Men like Josias Leboho, who left three kids orphaned, should not see the light of day.”
