At 21, Nhlamulo Mabasa has already inspired aspiring music lovers not to give up on their dreams.

Through his musical blog ‘Discover Your Music’ ( DYM) which he established with his mentor Tonic MrLee , Nhlamulo teaches music wholeheartedly on a ‘tag Price’ for lessons. This organisation is based in Gauteng and has a branch in Limpopo.

The purpose of the organization is to mentor music lovers and upcoming musicians (artists) and help them discover their musical talents.

DYM, as Nhlamulo is affectionately known, has already been trademarked ‘master of instruments’ since he could play anything from bass guitar, drums, piano to singing amazingly.

DYM isn’t just an organization where you can go to and listen to music theory, but it is a platform where you could get practical lessons on how to master your music gift.

“We teach you how to play musical instruments and also make you a better singer.”

DYM has already attracted legions of aspiring musos and those that are already in music.

“We intend to unleash fresh perspective, fresh inspiration; fresh performance and fresh insight.

“We have monthly structured classes for music lessons, both instrumental and vocal where you can register for lessons to enlighten your musical gift.”

DYM also creates opportunities for music lovers, such as hosting music festivals, concerts or seminars where they expose gifted-yet-untapped talents.

“So far we have aided so many organizations including churches, musical groups and other vital musicians.

“We also go about helping struggling churches (a church without a proper band or singers) to grow rapidly and improve them,” said DYM.

The born-again preacher and entrepreneur said there are six churches that have managed to go under “our lease for worship team lessons”.

“Those church groups showed massive improvements and could properly host a concert.”

For DYM, originally from Gandlanani village in Malamulele, music has been flowing in his family blood.

His elder brother DJ Jepper is a multi-talented instrumentalist. His other brother, Walter is an amazing singer.

“It was not hard for me to learn how to play instruments and I believe that everyone can also master them simply as well as singing. They just need to be practically dedicated.”

DYM doesn’t only give music lessons through DYM organization.

“We develop the youths in different areas, spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally and also provide financial awareness.”

Although he says there were many projects that he proudly did, one of his recent memories is a music seminar that was held successfully in December 2020.
