Sergeant Dlamini receives applause from colleagues on Mbopha’s case

Sergeant Nathi Dlamini has been applauded for leaving no stone unturned with his passion at heart when dealing with Mbopha Mashigo’s murder case.

And his determination for his work has played a big role in securing life imprisonment for the man.

The charges of murder and possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition, has resulted in Jonas Ramokgola being sentenced to ten years imprisonment.

Ramokgola was sentenced by the Alexandra Regional Court on the 14th of September 2021 after he was found guilty of shooting and killing Mashigo (54), a well known businessman in his business area in Alexandra on New Year’s Eve in 2017.

The investigating officer, Dlamini proceeded with the investigation up until Ramokgola was traced and arrested with the help of informers.

The bail was opposed twice and the accused remanded in custody.

Alexandra Station Commander Brigadier Lindiwe Victoria Magudulela applauded Ramakgola’s hefty sentence and commended Dlamini for his determination to tackle crime.

Mashigo was shot dead after Ramokgola came into his eatery and entertainment outlet and gave the shop assistant R200 for an order of food and a drink.

When the assistant moved, Ramokgola fired one deadly shot before fleeing on foot without the food or his change.
