WOMAN RAPED AROUND 2 AM AS SHE CAME BACK FROM HER BOYFRIEND ALONE

The SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Units in Groblersdal, Burgersfort and Mokopane are investigating three cases of rape that occurred separately between 20-04-2024 and 21-04-2024.

In Nebo, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped at Moria Section, in Phokwane village on Sunday, 21 April 2024 at around 18:30. It is reported, that the victim was walking at the streets going back home from accompanying her friend at Maratho place, when she was approached by an unknown man to her. The suspect suddenly grabbed her on the neck and threatened her. He dragged her into the nearby bushes and raped her.

On a separate incident reported at Tubatse policing precinct, a woman aged 21 was allegedly gang raped by four unknown men. They allegedly met her at the street, walking alone at around 02:00, at Riva Cross coming from her boyfriend ‘s place. They apparently pointed her with a gun before raping her.

Meanwhile, in Magatle policing area, a 28-year-old female victim was allegedly raped by a known man to her, at Khureng village, while she was going home on Saturday, 20 April 2024, at around 20h00.

Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the suspect met the victim at the streets, threatened her and thereafter dragged her to a vacant house where he raped her.

“The Police were notified about the rape incidents. Cases of rape were opened and transferred to relevant FCS units for further investigation.

“Anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects in these cases should contact, Groblersdal FCS, Warrant Officer Mahuleng Thoka on 072 679 6553, Sergeant Sherlly Lekubu of Burgersfort FCS on 071 355 0571 and Captain Collins Ngwepe of Mokopane FCS on 071 481 4289. Alternatively, crime stop number 08600 10111 or nearest police station.

“The Police investigations are still ongoing,” said Ledwaba.
