The Police in Burgesfort seek positive information that can lead to the arrest of a male suspect who allegedly killed his girlfriend at his residence in Mareseleng village, between Saturday 27 April 2024 and Wednesday, 01 May 2024.
The Police were alerted about an unusual strong odour coming from the victim’s residence.
Upon arrival, they found a body of woman with injuries, wrapped with blankets and put on a sponge. EMS was activated and she was certified dead. Her identity is currently withheld for investigation purposes.
Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said preliminary investigations have established that the deceased and the suspect were in a relationship.
Ledwaba said that on Saturday, 21 April 2024, community members saw them together attending a party at a village.
“They left and went to the suspect’s house. After few days, the suspect was seen around the village alone.
“Circumstances behind the incident are still under intensive investigation. Police opened a case of murder for further investigations.
“Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspects, should contact the investigating officer Sergeant Hannah Nkambule on 0825455077or crime stop number on 08600 10111 or nearest police station or MySAPS App.
“The Police investigations are continuing,” Ledwaba said.
