The members of the Detectives unit in Lephalale Police Station have initiated an extensive manhunt for unknown suspect who shot and killed a 44-year-old man in the early hours of Thursday, 02 May 2024 at Mahlakung Informal Settlement in Lephalale.
According to preliminary information, residents heard a gunshot at about 05:30 and went outside to investigate. They then discovered the victim lying on the street next to a shack.
“Upon receiving reports of the shooting, police swiftly responded, with emergency medical services personnel dipatched to the scene. The victim succumbed to the injuries, having sustained gunshot wound on his head.
“The identity of the deceased will be disclosed in due course. A murder case has been opened.

“The Police investigations continue,” said Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba.
