Alex woman, former Mrs. Commonwealth SA, nominated for The Woman of Stature Awards, one of the biggest awards in South Africa

“Being nominated is truly inspiring and encouraging, knowing that you are making a difference in your community. Being acknowledged is really an honor.

 

“My motive has always been one to make a difference, even if it’s just for one person. The nomination to me means there’s always hope,” says Fortunate Twala. She was born and raised in the community of Alexandra.

 

Until recently, Twala was permanently employed as a Flight Attendant, where her primary duties included safety and comfort of passengers on the aircraft, as well as customer service management.

 

She is also a student of Early Childhood Development, at Enjo Consultants Pty Ltd. She is certified coach with Comensa, social entrepreneur. She is a brand ambassador for Mangwanani African Spar, pageant / contest Judge and a business woman.

 

Twala is well-known in the community for her outreach work. ” I’m married into a family that shares my passion for community work,” Twala said.

 

In 2019, she entered the Mrs. Commonwealth SA Pageant and consequently walked away with the title in August 2019.

 

“In 2020 I participated in the Mrs. SA Pageants along with thousands of hopefuls and was privileged to reach the top 50 semi-finals.

 

“I participated in the pageants as part of my personal development and empowerment as a woman. The skills acquired was congruent with my personal development plan and fit in with my values, goals and mission.

 

“The transformational education received are skills which I would not have been able to receive in a traditional classroom,” she says.

 

The awards is an event that recognizes the talent, hard work and passion of local female entrepreneurs and businesswomen is back and ready to celebrate hard-working women in all their glory.

 

The prestigious annual Woman of Stature Awards Gala is around the corner and will be hosted on Saturday, 12 March 2022 at Indaba Hotel and Conference center in Fourways, Johannesburg.

 

The Woman of Stature Awards is hosted by the Woman of Stature Foundation – a proudly South African non-profit company formed in 2018.

 

Founder and CEO Charlotte du Plessis said the event is dedicated to addressing the socio-economic challenges that are prevalent in South Africa and by making a valid contribution.
