The community of Alexandra is reeling in shock after a woman was raped and killed.
48-year-old Barbara Zwane’s body was found half naked in a toilet on Thursday morning.
Used condoms and shoe strings were found at the scene which suggests that she might have been strangled to death.
This happened at No. 156-7th Avenue, Josias Madzunya street, previously called Rooth street.
Her boyfriend Tshepiso said he was on a night shift duty when his lover was murdered.
“She came to me at work asking for money. That was the last time I saw her alive.”
Alexandra police station commander Brigadier Lindiwe Magudulela has confirmed the crime and said the police were investigating the incident.
No arrests have been made.
