His brother Vusimusi Zikhali told Alex Reporter that the criminals took his gun after shooting him.

Mtshali had worked for a security company as armed guard before he went to taxi business full time.

He had worked with his brother in the security job.

“That day he phoned and  requested that I organise his job back.

“He wanted to go back to security as Uber business was not doing well due to lockdown,”said Zikhali.

The Police were not reached for comment at the time of going to press.

His former colleague,Karabo ‘Tman’ Taunyane described Mtshali as nice and a man with big dreams.

“I worked with Mtshali at Savika Armed Response and we became friends in 2014.

“He bought a brand new Avanza and started long distance transport from Gauteng to KZN.

“After the business became successful, he bought a Toyota Quest in 2019 and out it into Taxify/Uber bussines.”

Taunyane said he spoke to Mtshali last week.

“He was planning to buy an Evo

to use for long distance trips to KZN.”
