ANC councilor in Alexandra Kenneth Mgaga (36) has been released on a R2000 bail.
Mgaga appeared before the Alexandra Magistrates’ court earlier today. He is accused of raping a 28-year-old woman.
Since his arrest over the weekend his party has since distanced itself from him and rallying behind the alleged rape victim.
The case has been postponed to 22 February 2021 for further investigations.
Meanwhile, the ANC Youth League in Alexandra says this is just a political smear campaign to tarnish Mgaga’s image.
