Police issued a missing person report after a 6-year-old boy, Kwanda Shadrack Dladla, escaped his home on 9 June 2021.

Unfortunately, a family member who asked for anonymity, told Alex Repoter that the boy was found dead in Setjwetla inside Juiskei River on June 16.

Alex police spokesperson, sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha said the Bremley Police were investigating the case. However, they were not reached at the time of the publication of the story.

The police in the statement said Zanele Lucia Dladla of 144 -4th Avenue, the mother of the boy, told the police that her son was playing with his friend, Siyabonga, at the aforementioned address.

“Kwanda’s mother was approached by Siyabonga’s father and explained to her that they had broken someone’s car (headlight).

“Then he took a belt and hit the boys. Kwanda fled, and never came home,” said the statement.

It’s not yet clear how the boy died.
