A man at 5th Avenue in Alexandra has stabbed his girlfriend to death and committed suicide.
After Khulisani Ncube (46) stabbed his girlfriend (42), he committed suicide and his body was found hanging from a tree this morning at Innersfree Park, Harris RD, next to the bridge on Greyston Drive.
The man and his girlfriend, Zamile Ndlovu, were originally from Zimbabwe. The woman had just arrived to stay with the man yesterday after they had differences before. From the information we have, it appears that the man had been abusive.
Nhlonipho Ndlovu, Zamile’s brother, stated that the couple did not have a burial society. He said they tried in vain to call the man to order to change his abusive behavior.
However, for him to kill Zamile and commit suicide came as a shock to his family. “We are very traumatised as the family because we didn’t think he would do that and at the moment we have no cent,” said Hlonipho.
Hlonipho said that for the couple to be repatriated to Zimbabwe, it will cost close to 70K.
