Horrific murders, hijackings and abductions that have occurred in Alexandra recently

Alexandra continues to be a haven for criminals ,writes Jonk wa Mashamba

1. MURDER
A 39-year-old male, Vusi Thabethe from Ext 09, next to Bohlabela Alexandra, was reportedly murdered on 5 November 2021 by his neighbor.

 

The suspect was linked to a murder by the deceased’s shoes, which he is believed to have been found with.

 

According to Alex’s police spokesperson, Sergeant Mbatha, the first person who saw the deceased lives in the same yard with the suspect and the deceased.

 

The woman saw the deceased as she returned from work. The deceased came from work as well.

 

Enraged residents who had surrounded his shack before many policemen came, almost killed him in a mob-justice.

 

The workforce, including the station commander Brigadier Magudulela, Vispol Commander Colonel Ngubane, the commander Colonel Zwane, the pop members and the JMPD was called.

 

Mbatha said eventually, the suspect was pulled out of the shack without anyone getting hurt. Motive for murder is unknown so far.

 

2. MURDER
On Wednesday 03 November around 6:30 p.m., police received a non-natural death complaint between Watt and Old Pretoria road Wynberg.

 

Upon their arrival, they were shown a body of a woman who was raped.

 

According to Mbatha, the deceased had no underwear because the same underwear was used to choke the victim.

 

The deceased is known as Nelisiwe Nantipha, born on 1976 and has lived on the place called Council, a stone throw away from the police station.

 

Her sister, Thabisa, told police that they were from the Eastern Cape. The Suspect dropped off his shirt on the scene before he allegedly fled on foot.

 

3. CARJACKING
Muhedin Bubu resident at 3rd Avenue, Alexandra was hijacked at gunpoint.
He told police that two suspects with guns approached him at the stop sign while the cars were passing by.

 

Mbatha said that while Bubu was still waiting for cars to come through two armed thugs came out of nowhere.
The window of his vehicle was opened, making it simple for the thugs to point at him with a gun.

 

They then opened the door of his car and took him out of the vehicle.

 

They searched him and took R5000 cash, cell phone A2 valued R2000. When they finished robbing him, the two men jumped into his GMW silver bakkie and fled without firing.

 

The vehicle had a tracker and was recovered in ext 8.

 

4. CARJACKING
Label Monyela, was with his colleague delivering items in Alexandra. The incident took place at 2021-11-0 at approximately 11:00 a.m.

Upon their arrival on a street called South Africa in Alexandra, they noticed that the client was not there.

 

Meanwhile, they were shocked to see four aggressive men approach them.

 

One of the thugs was armed with a high-powered weapon.

 

The thugs rushed into the car, drove with the victims over about three hundred and fifty metres, before unloading twenty-two boxes.

 

Subsequently, the driver and his colleague were locked in the back of the bakkie, driven and dropped off by the highway where they were assisted by someone.
The thugs spoke the Zulu language.

 

5. KIDNAPPING
Stanford Mathipa Mabitsela of Midrand, together with his two friends decided to go for shopping at Alex Mall.

 

When they arrived at Alexandra around 10am on November 7, 2021, they placed an order at the potato chip store.

 

One of them, Lefi Mabitsela, told his friends he urgently needed to meet another friend he had never met before. He said they only spoke online.

 

Lefi went to that friend until an hour went by, causing panic to everyone else.

 

While they were concerned for him Lefi called and told them that he had been kidnapped.

 

Those who kidnapped him demanded R10,000 before they could let him go.

 

The police and his family were informed.
It wasn’t the first time he was abducted.

 

However, he was found with the assistance of Sgt Mojela, Sgt Mohlongo and his family.

6. MURDER
After the Police were informed that someone had been murdered early in the morning 06:00, on the 8th November, they rushed to the scene.

 

On their arrival, they found a woman who pointed them the body of her female friend.

 

She told the police that they were together when the incident happened.

When she met her premature death, she had gone to Madala Hostel to pick up her cell phone from someone her friend had never known.

 

The woman alleged that she never went to the shack nor entered it.

 

She then told the police that when her friend came out with the phone it was dark. She said the two were no closer to each other as her friend was in front.

 

Suddenly, she heard the steps of someone else who said “hey wena, bring my phone”.

 

Immediately she heard her friend crying and she saw her bleeding from the neck. She was stabbed four times.
