Some were found underneath the manhole where some of the cables are running.

The thugs were found with working tools when they were arrested.

Isaac Mangena, Spokesperson for City Power said: “We applaud the JMPD for their sterling work in protecting the electricity infrastructure.

“Alexandra is one of the areas with high cable theft, which has seen most outages attributed to cables theft.

“We urge the CPF and members of the community to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity around our infrastructure.”
