Talented recording artist, affectionately known as Kaptain Pro, says when you find a mob assaulting someone, don’t just join in, because you could be implicated in the deaths of innocent people.

Apart from the fact that his life flashed before his eyes on the 7th of March 2023, Rocket Live news and Tzaneen Voice “just added salt in the wound by labeling me as a criminal”.

After weeks of being silent, the gospel artist from Makumeke village in Malamulele set the record straight during the interview with Alex Reporter.

He said on that fateful day, he was on his way from Bungeni village to drop a female companion in Giyani after two of his friends had gone to Gauteng.

Towards Nkuna Kraal Mall, they were approached by a white BMW. The occupants “demanded to search my car which I refused”.

“After I saw the passenger coming out with a gun, I sped off. He shot at the car twice then chased us.

“For me, the mall was the safe place to run to and I did just that as they followed us to the mall.

“As we alighted from the car and entered the mall, they shot at us again,” he said.

“I ran to FNB where I hid. When things seemed to be settled outside, they called the Masingita security officer to assist me.

“After I told him what happened, to my surprise, he told me that I was actually a suspect. I asked what was I suspected for but he couldn’t tell me.”

He said the security guard handcuffed him and the woman with “our hands back and pushed us out of the bank”.

“He was the first person to assault me and the mob joined him.
We were beaten and kicked until the police came and pulled us into the van. We were taken to a clinic and later released to go home.

“The incident left me wounded, confused and terribly traumatized since I don’t understand how did I run from bullets and eventually became a criminal at Nkuna Kraal Mall.

” Rocket Live news and Tzaneen Voice just added salt in the wound by labeling me as a criminal, the information that even today I don’t have an idea where they got it from,” he said.

The artist who recorded four albums and also worked with groups like Go-Explo, Tshwane Gospel, is currently a singer for Worship House, a multi-awards winning gospel group based in Venda.

He says he got support from the bishop of the WTCC in Mavambe and some church members.

“But it was so evident that to many of the church members and the community at large, I am a criminal.

“And that has ruined my reputation as an artist and a massage therapist,” he concludes.
