Patricia Mofokeng, on October 16, 2021, gave three wheelchairs to Alexandra young people with disabilities.
Identifying those who deserve help is not a challenge for Patricia, as she knows her constituents firsthand.
The recipients included Ntando (24), Mashudu (12), Rifumo (10), and Khutso (30).
She says she noticed them when she came to them.
“I have good relations with people because I spend more time with them,” she said.
She is also pleased to have been successful in helping youth with food parcels.
Mashudu waited for 12 years, but the EFF was eventually able to help him. Now he will be capable of going to school and church.
“We will continue to help people, especially those with specialized skills and needs,” she promised.
“Since the ANC took over the ward in 2019, no developments were made.”
She argues that the current councillor cannot identify those in his neighborhood who need help.
“He does not know where they dwell. That’s why I say, I’m familiar with people in my ward and I already identified some of the people whom he doesn’t know and we helped them under the leadership of EFF.”
In 2013, fighter Patricia was a community activist with compassion for helping people, especially those who cannot help themselves.
“I fell in love with EFF because it’s the only organization that I think can make a difference in the lives of black people. The ANC failed people for 27 years.”
Originally from Limpopo Bolobedu in Jamela village Patricia has a good relationship with residents and she knows all their needs and problems.
“At the EFF, we don’t make promises but we live up to our commitments,” she said, adding that people should vote for it.
“The EFF will turn Marlboro’s old factories into commercial operations to help youth who have the skills to do their jobs. And some will be refurbished into apartments to accommodate residents from Transiscamp and Vezinyao.
“Because, they have been there for years as a temporary place but ANC failed them. In Transiscamp these containers have started cracking.
“This put the lives of people in danger. There are blocked drains everywhere. Another challenge is that the Vezinyawo rooms are too small for the families, but the ANC keeps promising residents better place.”
She outlined the following manifesto:
“The EFF will bring back the dignity of our ancestors by transforming the old cemetery of Alexandra into a heritage site for tourist attraction.
“The EFF in Ward 109 will make sure that people have access to electricity, water and adequate sanitation.
“The EFF will ensure that the entire Juskei River is fenced off to prevent any natural disasters from affecting residents.
“The EFF will make sure that all street vendors have adequate stalls and storages to provide fresh and healthy services to the community.”
