The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in Gauteng has congratulated Cllr Thapelo Amad on his election as Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg (CoJ).
According to Cllr Mlungisi Mabaso,
Member of the IFP Caucus in the City of Johannesburg Council, the new Mayor is expected to bring stability to the city and steady its course.
“In that regard, the IFP stands ready to support the new Mayor as he takes up the mantle left by his predecessor, Cllr Mpho Phalatse, in leading the coalition government in the country’s economic hub.
“It is our hope that Cllr Amad will lead the march in ensuring uninterrupted quality service delivery at CoJ.
“In addition, the IFP extends its well wishes to the incoming Members of the Mayoral Executive.
“We urge them to always remember that the citizens of Johannesburg deserve nothing less than full commitment to competent and ethical governance,” Mabaso said.
