Ali Senoamadi has made a name for himself and most youths in Alexandra look up to him for advices.

This comes after his Alexandra Basketball club became home to many young people who were initially on the streets.

To be where he is ,Ali was established by his Coach Jornathan Khumalo, the legend who started basketball in Alexandra Township.

“Through basketball we found love, education and a place called home for many of us.”

Ali said it energises him when he sees many kids from Alex schools, who are also part of his club, progressing to nationwide varsities with basketball scholarships.

“One of our missions is to keep as many youths as we can to make them active and away from streets. It makes me joyous when I contribute towards the happiness of these kids.

“I would like to see them smile and safe always.

“Being a great coach to them is one of the things I’m working on,” he said.

Ali said he would have achieved a lot if his club could compete on club championships.

Originally from Lephalale in Limpopo province,Ali is based in Alex where he is revered by the community.

He is also an upcoming entrepreneur and a business man.

“I run community projects. We are currently building a new project called Alex school of Excellence, where kids will be given an opportunity to learn and that will take place after school hours, before they go for pbasketball training.”

His message to kids out there:

“leave the streets and join us at the courts and enjoy the love of the game.

“You might go far because this is where we grow champions and develop them.

“I want to urge parents to encourage their kids to join sports because they will be kept active and out of streets.

“We kindly ask parents again to motivate, attend games and be part of the child’s life in all activities they participate, then we will together built a better community for all.”
