Nosipho Mhlungu (24), an entrepreneur from Alexandea, Johannesburg, won five awards at the Thuba Pelo Mosadi 3rd Annual Women Of Wealth (WOW) Global Awards held in Midrand recently.

The Awards are founded by the current Mrs South Africa Plus, Unathi Nare, who has won other pageants around the world.

Nosipho walked away with Support Her Award, Humanitarian Award, Women in Business Award, Influencer Award, and Youth Excellence Award. She was the second runner-up in the Social Media Public Choice Awards.

The awards were attended by 100 women from all over the country and 17 women were nominated.

WOW Global Awards is renowned for recognizing and celebrating individuals who have made significant contributions in various fields, while also empowering and inspiring others along the way.

Nosipho, the eldest of four siblings, says her parents are her biggest source of motivation. “Their hard work and dedication have shaped me into the woman I am today.

“I am a proud Director of Kay Opportunities (Pty) Ltd, an innovative (PR & Marketing) event management company that specializes in creating ramarkable experiences for our clients.

“I am also the co-owner of a new washing powder brand called “Soweto Breeze” (Siwasha iWashini), which targets consumers in our townships.”

She says her brand aims to provide their customers with an ownership experience – a brand that speaks to them as black people.

She stated that she was thrilled to have won the awards. She said it was a reassuring moment from God. “I feel incredibly grateful and honored. This is a validation to keep me pushing and not give up.

“My goal is to set a good example for other young girls and empower them to be self-reliant, self-confident, and have integrity. Success is a series of small wins. I’m excited for what God is still going to unfold.

“I am very fortunate to have my father by my side showing me the way and thanks to him. I’m constantly learning, growing and having the time of my life in the process. ‘You live, you learn and you grow’, they say.”

She said to the youth,” Your authentic path may take you longer. But the moves and impact will definitely forever be legendary. God’s plans for our lives are not to harm us but plans to give us hope and a future.

“What’s meant for you will never miss you. Be gentle and kind to yourself,” said Nozipho.
