Residents of Extension 7 in Alexandra say they are living in fear after a group of people allegedly linked to “Operation Dudula” repeatedly harassed tenants living in backyard rooms.
According to one of the residents, who lives at 4618 Shibobo Street near Why Not’s place, the group has been demanding access to their backyard rooms and even forced their way inside.
“Yesterday they invaded a tenant who was bathing. We are crying for help. We don’t feel safe anymore,” the resident said.
The resident added that police have already arrested three individuals suspected to be part of the group after they allegedly forced their way into the property on 15 September. Videos and photos of the incidents have reportedly been sent to authorities as evidence.
The group’s leader allegedly lives on the same street as the victims.
Residents are now appealing for help from authorities and community leaders, saying the situation has become intolerable and dangerous.
