The Ngubeni family in Alexandra is desperately searching for 3-year-old Samkelo Ngubeni.
The boy’s mother, Busisiwe Glenda Ngubeni, was brutally attacked and killed last month. She was raped and stabbed repeatedly in her private parts, spine, stomach, chest, neck, head, and behind her ear by her neighbor, Bongani Radebe, on 26 August 2025.
The horrific incident occurred inside her room at Greenville Informal Settlement in Alexandra. She succumbed to her injuries on 29 August 2025. She was stabbed with a scissors.
“She told my mom before she died that her child was with his father in Ext 9, Alexandra. But when we went there, they claimed they didn’t know anything and that the child hadn’t been brought to their house,” said Lindiwe Ngubeni, Busisiwe’s sister.
Lindiwe added, “We were accompanied by the police, but we’re still in the dark. It gives us sleepless nights.”
Busisiwe had reportedly been targeted by Radebe over her land on several occasions. According to the family, he had been threatening her, wanting her stand for himself.
“I was stabbed for my stand,” Busisiwe reportedly said before slipping into a coma in the hospital. Those were her last words. The culprit is on the run.
Now, the family is faced with the dual tragedy of losing Busisiwe and the mysterious disappearance of her son.
