Activists and Citizens Forum has condemned the ongoing water crisis in some parts of Gauteng and Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Dennis Bloem, spokesperson for Activists and Citizens Forum said it was totally “unacceptable that people must go through this hell. Worst of all, some people have been without water for weeks now”.
He said the water crisis affected everybody “more especially school children. Some of them are forced to stay away from school because there is no water to wash themselves and wash their school uniform”.
“Once again, nobody wants to take responsibility for this mess. In this country, there are no consequences for incompetency.
“National Government must take full responsibility. Minister of Water and Sanitation, Senzo Mchunu, must immediately intervene to address this water disaster. People’s lives are in danger,” said Bloem.
