Mabore Onicca Raboshakga was stabbed to death
allegedly by her boyfriend Mthokosizi Vincent Madondo.

Madondo allegedly stabbed
Raboshakga on 2 July 2023 at Carnival Green, Boksburg. He will make his third court appearance on Wednesday, 19 July 2023.

He is expected to make a
formal bail application. Details surrounding the murder are still sketchy.

Masiphephe says the rising number of femicide a cause for concern.

“Alexandra Masiphephe Network notes with concern, the continuous rising number of femicide cases in South Africa.

“According to reports, a woman is killed by her intimate partner every six hours in South Africa. The rising number of femicide is indeed a cause for concern.

“Men like Madondo are a danger to society and a hindrance to the progress we are making in creating a society free from Gender Based Violence and Femicide,” said Nomalanga Ngwenya (ADAPT – Masiphephe Network).

“It is for the above reason that Alexandra Masiphephe
Network is calling for his bail denial. We cannot continue experiencing the rising numbers of
gender based violence and femicide and normalise it.

“Join us as we picket outside the Boksburg Magistrate Court on Wednesday, 19 July 2023 at Boksburg Magistrate Court, 08:30,” said Ngwenya.
