Now, most women will rely on the new RISE & SHINE pads, proudly… they are very inexpensive and healthy!

Rise & Shine Pads founder Monica Koketso Maubane (21) says she has studied how expensive sanitary towels are. She also found that many women and girls were not able to access it due to the price range.

Monica says that as a result, women were forced to use old clothes as an alternative to sanitary towels.

“It’s unhealthy because it leads to vaginal infections and cervical cancer. When I began this venture, I wanted to create a safe, healthy and comfortable discussion platform.

Rise & Shine has a unique combination of features and functionality that make this product perfect.”

What differentiates the Rise & Shine pads from most of the other pads on the market is the high-quality soft top sheet, with a breathable bottom sheet.

“They’re 100% cotton, rash free, chlorine free, (no Fragrances) and protect women from UTIs and yeast infections, while providing them with the best possible comfort.

“Each packet carries 8 pads inside, which goes for R8 only. The best part is that the sanitary towels are delivered to the door and the price is convenient for customers to pay,” Monica said.

Monica’s passion for women is nothing new! She always enjoyed buying towels in bulk and giving them to girls who needed them.

“So, I eventually decided to create my own brand to raise awareness about period poverty with my own brand. I have been working on this project since 2020, And launched the business on the 30th of July 2021.

“The business is registered under the mother board of my company known as LILLY OF THE VALLEY INVESTMENTS, which is registered under the CIPC.”

She was born and raised in Alexandra Township. She matriculated in 2018, and currently studies events management with the Skills Academy.

Her dream was to own a business someday. “I always wanted to be the change that the world expects. I always wanted to venture into something that would benefit not only me, but the women as well.”

However, convincing women to switch from their regular product to her product was the hardest phase.

“But, as an entrepreneur, I have the vision of success in everything that I do. As I grow, I think women are going to fall in love with my brand.”

Her advice to women who terminate their skills is that they should massage their ego and avoid being spoon fed.

“They must pursue ownership and take their business ideas into consideration, get out from your comfort zone, and create employment instead of waiting to be employed.

“Be the change that the world is waiting for, you are worth it, the world is waiting for you to manifest and never settle for less.”
