In this horrific incident, a man was shot  below the eye because he refused to vacate his house

Alex Reporter compiled some horrible crimes that took place in Alexandra recently.

1. Carjacking

The victim alleged that on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at approximately 6pm, he was driving his car on London Road towards the N3 exit ramp.


He stopped near a red robot, and meanwhile, three men, one armed with a firearm, came up and smashed his car window and opened from the outside.

They ordered him out and all jumped into the car and sped off.

The vehicle is a dark gray Audi A3 Reg VRH 207 GP valued at R 85 000.00.

The vehicle is insured and equipped with a tracking system. No shots were fired.

2. Murder

Sergeant Mahashe stated that while on duty at approximately 20:00 he received a report of the murder from Edenvale Hospital.

On arrival, the Doctor informed her that the deceased Itumeleng Boikanyo was brought to the hospital for medical attention after a knife stab wound in the chest. He passed on while they were busy operating him.

The deceased’s sister claimed that he was stabbed in the chest after a physical battle with two men and a woman at 235 Thoko Mngoma Street, Alexandra.

According to Alexandra police spokesman Sergeant Mbatha, no arrests have yet taken place.

3. Armed robbery

Mr B Hefer alleged that on November
18, 2021 about 10h30 he was driving a white Toyota Hilux with registration number FG 63 VG GP in Alexandra.

Between 5th and 6th Avenue, he was accosted by two men, one armed with a firearm and ordered him out of the car.

According to Mbatha, the victim complied and they then began searching the car and took a silver HP laptop and a black iPhone worth total R 50,000.00.
No gunfire was reported.

4. Attempted murder

One victim alleged that he was home busy plastering his house from the inside when a group of over twenty members of Dudula’s operations asked to talk to him.

He said that he went out to hear what they wanted to say when they ordered him to leave the house and stated that it belonged to one of them.

He reportedly wouldn’t open the door and the group eventually left. He asked the police for assistance and they came, but the group was already gone.

“After a while, the group came back, broke the gate, windows and door and started removing his personal belongings from the house.

“In a loud quarrel, a person in the group pulled out a firearm and shot him in the lower left eye and his right thigh.

“He was taken to the Helen Joseph Hospital for medical attention and later discharged. The victim knows one of the suspect as Grace from Bohlabela village in Alexandra,” says Mbatha.

5.Carjacking

Mr H Thubalani alleged that he was driving his brother’s car, a blue Toyota Etios HY 30 BZ GP along the Lion’s Crescent, Far East Bank.

He stopped at a stop sign when men with guns walked up to him. They opened the driver’s door because it was not locked and began to search him.

“They took the Huawei cell phone, cards and R270 cash and then ordered him out of the car and drove away.

“The vehicle value is R 150 000, insured and has a tracking device fitted.”

Mbatha stated that the victim will not be able to identify the suspect because the incident occurred too quickly. No injuries were reported.

6. Murder

Sergeant Mosweu said that while on duty on 20 November 2021 at approximately 06:45, he received a complaint of a dead body at N3 off ramp and London Road, on the open veld.

Upon his arrival, he found an unknown African man, 40 to 45 years old, dressed in blue work suits.

He had a knife wound to the right eyebrow and throat.

According to Mbatha, the dead man was found by a passerby in the morning.

“The motive for the murder unknown.”

7. Armed robbery

Mr Ntengo Scena alleged that while he was delivering parcels around Alexandra, driving a Nissan NP 200 (Registration BN 26 RZ GP), he was accosted by two men armed with firearms.

They took parcels to the value of R 22 000.00 and also took the car keys. There were no gunshots.

8. Armed robbery

Mr. Njenje alleged that when he was delivering packages around Alexandra, three gunmen approached him with guns.

They robbed him a cell phone and 3 parcel boxes valued at R 1500.00.
No wounds were sustained.

9. Carjacking

Mr. TR Skota alleged that he was driving a silver gray Toyota Avanza (registration HF 04 XM GP) at Side, in Alexandra, carrying passengers.

Two passengers remained in the Avanza and at the corner of Skeen Street, one of the passengers drew a gun and ordered him to lower his head.

A suspect drove the Avanza until they dropped the victim off in Booysens area.

He was assisted by a security guard who took him to Booysens police station where the case was registered.
