Ekasi Fashion Week, one of the most anticipated fashion events in South Africa, is proud to announce its 19th season.

This year, Ekasi Fashion Week will be held at Reedville Taxi Rank (Springs) on April 1st.

The first-of-its-kind event taxi-rank curated fashion show serves as a platform for established and emerging designers to a wide range of styles, from traditional African wear to avant-garde haute couture and connect with a wider audience.

Ekasi Fashion Director, Stephen Monoki said, “We are thrilled to bring Ekasi Fashion Week to the Reedville Taxi Rank this year.

“Our aim is to showcase the incredible creativity and diversity of South African fashion and provide a platform for designers from all backgrounds to connect with new audiences.”

This diversity is reflected in the models as well, who come from all walks of life and represent different body types, ages, and ethnicities.

One of the key objectives of Ekasi Fashion Week is to promote diversity and inclusivity in the fashion industry.

“As an organization, we are committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity in the fashion industry. Our taxi rank showcase is a perfect example of this, as it provides a platform for designers from all backgrounds to showcase their work and connect with new audiences,” says Monoki.

The previous taxi rank showcase was a huge success and attracted international media. “We were overwhelmed by the positive response we received after our last taxi rank showcase. It is a testament to the incredible talent and creativity of our designers and models,” says Monoki.

This year’s event promises to be even more spectacular, with fashion models walking down the runway showcasing different fashion looks. “We have some incredible designs in store for this year’s event, and we can’t wait to see them come to life on the runway,” says Monoki.

Rumor has it that a few celebrities will also be featured on the runway. In addition, there will be live performances, art stalls, wine tasting, and exclusive Kasi Kotas.
