An Alex teen between the ages of 16 and 19 was dragged into a park next to the Jukskei River at West Bank, Alexandra and gang-raped.

The victim said she was walking home when she was accosted by two male strangers who threatened her with a knife.

The perpetrators forcefully dragged her to a dark area where they took turns raping her without condoms.

According to Alex Police spokesperson, Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, the victim tried in vain to convince them she was HIV positive when they continued with their vicious act.

“They told her they wanted those who were HIV positive,” said Mbatha.

When they were done, they took her umbrella, R70 and sneakers worth R230 and left her vulnerable.

Mbatha said no arrests had been made yet and that police were investigating the case of rape.

The exact age of the victim had not been established at the time of going to press.

It is not yet clear which direction the victim was heading to when the incident occurred.

The incident occurred while the community of Alex was still reeling in shock.

This was after the body of a teenage girl, Jabulile Nkosi (18) was found dumped next to the same park in September this year with bullet wounds.

Her alleged killer, Prince Ndlovu (25), Zimbabwean national, has since been arrested and will return to court on the 21 January 2021.

Nkosi, a learner at the East Bank High School, was killed just days before her 19th birthday.
