Phathutshedzo Netshimboni makes Alex proud

Phathutshedzo Netshimboni (25), launches his Raw Pleasure condom in December.

Phathu from East Bank in Alexandra says the much-anticipated launch will form part of World AIDS Day commemoration.

“The male condom is designed to give more pleasure to women,” he said.

During the event, he would use the opportunity to spread the message that the war against HIV and AIDS was far from over.

“We want to encourage people to use condoms in order to lessen the spread of this pandemic.”

World AIDS Day, designated on 01 December every year, is an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV and remembering those who have died of the disease.

The theme for 2020 observance is “Ending the HIV/AIDS Epidemic: Resilience and Impact.”

Asked if his brand was registered, he said: “Yes, it is registered with relevant authorities.

“The condoms are created for women to freely and boldly have them without waiting for men to initiate condomizing.

“I believe that someone, especially a youth from Alex where AIDS statistics keeps on rising, had to step in and start fighting.

“It’s been 38 years since the first case was reported,” he said.

Phathu worked with Quantumed, the company that assisted him with the manufacturing the condoms since the year started.

His dream is to open a warehouse that will manufacture condoms and create more jobs in South Africa.

“I wish that our government and relevant stakeholders can give us a chance to showcase our potentials,” Phathu said.

His simple advice is: “All you need to start a business is a Smartphone and hunger for more.”
