A couple from Alexandra was robbed at gunpoint at their home on Monday.

It is understood that the couple was asleep when a gunman stormed their house around 02 am.

The suspect then tied up the man and his wife with shoe laces before robbing them valuables worth thousands of rands.
The armed suspect then made off with plasma TV set and two cell phones.

The male victim (35) who works for the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) says the suspect demanded his service pistol and when he couldn’t find it, he left.

Alexandra police spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha said they were investigating a case of house robbery.
