Mokwakwaila police are investigating four counts: murder, attempted murder, malicious damage to property and business robbery.
It is alleged that on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at about 1:10 a.m., about 20 suspects entered the Makoti Filling Station. This took place in the village of Ga-Ramotshinyadi on the outskirts of Tzaneen.
The thugs were armed with firearms and bombarded the ABSA vending machine located in the petrol station.
According to the police, after the suspects bombed the vending machine and failed to find any money, they entered the bakery next to the gas station.
They found the Ethiopians, assaulted them and demanded money from them.
“They also went to their residential apartments and ransacked the place. Three Ethiopian nationals were wounded.
“Other Ethiopian nationals came with their cars and they were hit with a hail of bullets. As a result, an Ethiopian national received a fatal bullet to the head and died at the scene.
“The wounded were taken to hospital to receive medical care. At the scene of the crime, more than 62 empty 9mm cartridges and 1 for short gun were found scattered.
